Ew, the People

HuffPo:
Seven of the 12 richest people in the world have names ending in Koch, Walton or Adelson... The Koch brothers once threw $60 million into attempting to dethrone President Obama... The Waltons derive their wealth from Walmart, a company that has historically donated more to Republican causes and lobbied aggressively on taxes and labor issues [translation: cutting taxes on the rich and union busting]... And Sheldon Adelson may just be the biggest Republican donor of all.

Is Shitepark actually Liberetardian agitprop?

Parker and Stone openly support one of their parties, regularly infuse anti-ACC propaganda into the show (showing climate advocates use the Jedi mind trick to convince people, let a small boy walk up to them and tell them there's evidence ACC doesn't exist "from the mouth of a child" style, hybrid car users cause a "smug storm", Al Gore is fat and chases the Manbearpig, etc.), foist Lolberterian economics on the audience in their financial crisis episode and, as TVTropes notes, invokes the Golden Mean fallacy almost every episode to let their opinions appear centrist even though their highly tendentious and extremist.

Although I never enjoyed every bit, I find it hard to sustain a critique of SP as right-wing vehicle. For one thing, I've never heard of right-wing comedy that was actually funny -- while SP regularly is/was[?] (can't say I've paid attention to the show much for nearly a decade now). The Cartman character especially seems a relentless excoriation of Randroidal assholery. I do happen to think the South Park movie was and remains a work of comedic genius. If recent SP has tracked mediocre center tonally it wouldn't really surprise me, inasmuch as the Simpsons did much the same years ago at the cost of watchability.
