Suck It, Wingnuts

How the wingnuts must be exploding right about now, to find their Party tanking in every poll, to realize that strong women, uppity brown folks, and out queers were not destroyed or demoralized through the long epoch of Hate and are ready joyfully to take up their places at the table never to relinquish them again, to hear the emerging consensus that calls the bluff of Nixonian resentment and Reaganomic looting and kicks them into the dustbin of history, to find that nobody is pretending to like them anymore, that nobody is interested in hearing them repeat the corporatist-militarist-theocratic pieties that are all they ever had to say, that nobody thinks they are cute or smart or righteous in the least, that everybody is too busy coming together to solve shared problems of poverty, exploitation, treatable illness, climate-change, education, arms proliferation, and the rest, peer-to-peer, that our ideas and icons never relinquished their hold over the popular imagination and are now regaining their pride of place in the world of authoritative institutions.
